Progress continues on restoring power to 18 BCPS schools

TOWSON, MD. – Eighteen Baltimore County public schools remained without power Tuesday afternoon as efforts continue to restore operations at all schools affected by last Friday’s storm. Progress has been steady throughout the week in bringing all schools back online, said Superintendent Dr. S. Dallas Dance. “The staff in our Department of Physical Facilities is doing an outstanding job in working with BGE to get power restored and to clean up our school grounds," Dr. Dance said. All schools and school offices will be closed for the Independence Day holiday on Wednesday, July 4. Assessments will continue to determine if the power outages will affect any schools for the remainder of this week and for summer school classes, which begin Monday, July 9. Schools still without power on Tuesday, July 3, are the following:

  • Fort Garrison Elementary
  • Halstead Academy
  • Hebbville Elementary

  • Milbrook Elementary

  • Sudbrook Magnet Middle
  • Towson High
  • Victory Villa Elementary

  • Woodbridge Elementary
