BCPS Summer Instrumental Music Camp gets underway at Cockeysville Middle School

The BCPS Summer Instrumental Music Camp provides an opportunity for band and orchestra students in grades 5–12 to participate, at the appropriate grade level, in large ensemble rehearsals, sectional classes, and enrichment experiences in order to enhance personal and ensemble instrumental performance skills. The camp will be held from Tuesday, June 19, through Wednesday, June 27, at Cockeysville Middle School, which is located at 10401 Greenside Drive in Cockeysville. All of the camp ensembles will perform in a public concert in the outdoor amphitheater at Oregon Ridge Park, the summer home of the Baltimore Symphony, on Wednesday, June 27. The participation fee for the summer camp is $200 per student, and transportation from various locations throughout the county will be provided. Late registration for summer high school ends Wednesday, June 20

While registration for summer high school will end on Tuesday, June 19, late summer school registration for BCPS students only will be extended until Wednesday, June 20, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the five summer school sites: Dulaney High School at 255 Padonia Road in Timonium; Perry Hall High School at 4601 Ebenezer Road in Perry Hall; New Town High School at 4931 New Town Boulevard in Owings Mills; Sparrows Point High School at 7400 North Point Road in Sparrows Point; and Catonsville High School at 421 Bloomsbury Avenue in Catonsville. Students must be pre-registered at their home schools prior to June 20. Students not enrolled in the school system should contact the Office of Alternative Education. Baltimore County Public Schools summer schools for all grade levels will begin on Monday, July 9, and end for most courses and grade levels on Friday, August 3. Summer Visual Arts Enrichment Camp to get underway on Monday, July 9
The Baltimore County Summer Visual Arts Enrichment Camp provides an opportunity for students in grades 3 through 12 to build their personal art skills and add to their art portfolios. A variety of courses are offered to meet the varied needs and interests of students. The program runs each day from Monday, July 9, through Friday, July 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and all courses will be held at Perry Hall High School, 4601 Ebenezer Road in Perry Hall. Courses include An Exploration of Artists and their Materials for students entering grades 3 through 5, An Exploration of New Art Forms & Materials for students entering grades 6 through 8, and Portfolio Development for students entering grades 9 through 12. An open house and reception will be held on Thursday, July 19, to give students, parents, and teachers an opportunity to share in the Summer Enrichment Program experience and see the artworks created over the two-week program.
