The performing students have participated in a rigorous audition process to be selected for the Honors Concert. Ensembles for the evening include the orchestra, chorus, and band. In April, Baltimore County Public Schools was named again as one of the nation's "Best Communities for Music Education." The 2009 designation was made by NAMM, the international music products association that supports the benefits of music, music education, and music making. Baltimore County Public Schools, which also received this national honor in 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008, was one of only two Maryland school districts to receive the 2009 designation.
