TOWSON, MD. - The Central Maryland Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association will present Cockeysville Middle School teachers Mark Heath and Peter Lo with a Science Teaching Tools Award for 2009-2010.

The $2,500 award will be presented during a luncheon on November 19 and will be used by Cockeysville Middle School to purchase a set of TI-Navigators™ for use in seventh-grade math classes. TI-Navigators™ connect students' graphing calculators to classroom computers.

Heath and Lo teach seventh-grade math at Cockeysville. Ellen Mangels, Cockeysville math department chair, recommended them for this award because of their dedication to students and their innovative use of technology. Because of their efforts, this year, all of the school's math teachers have integrated Interwrite tablets into their lessons.
