Baltimore County Public Schools to hold major business networking event

More than 150 MBEs to meet BCPS general and prime contractors

    What: Baltimore County Public Schools will hold the first-of-its-kind business "Meet and Greet" to introduce more than 150 Minority Business Enterprises to nearly 40 BCPS general and prime contractors.

    BCPS has an enduring commitment to minority business inclusion. As a result, in fiscal year 2009 the school system achieved 35.51% minority and small business participation on all contracts. According to the Governor's Office of Minority Affairs in fiscal year 2008, BCPS led all Maryland Local Education Agencies (LEA) by achieving 22% MBE/SBE participation in construction contracts funded by the State, with over $35.4 million awarded to the MBE/SBE community. This total exceeded the second highest LEA by more than $15 million. MBEs may register by calling 410-887-4334 or emailing rball@bcps.org.
