Late registration for summer high school
High school students only can participate in late registration for summer school. The registration will take place at the five summer high school sites: Loch Raven High School at 1212 Cowpens Avenue in Towson; Parkville High School at 2600 Putty Hill Avenue in Parkville; Owings Mills High School at 124 Tollgate Road in Owings Mills; Chesapeake High School at 1801 Turkey Point Road in Essex; and Western Technical High School, at 100 Kenwood Avenue in Catonsville. High school students already enrolled in Baltimore County Public Schools can register from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Students not enrolled in the school system can register from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. only, for any remaining spaces. Most Baltimore County Public Schools summer schools -- for all grade levels - will begin on Tuesday, July 7, and end on Friday, August 7. Riverview Elementary Summer Library Program
To promote reading and in response to parents, Riverview Elementary School, 3298 Kessler Road in Baltimore, is proud to announce the Summer Library Program. The school library will be open for Riverview students on the following dates: July 6 - 8; July 13 - 17; July 20 - 24; and July 27 - 31. The hours of operation are 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
In addition, the Baltimore County Book Mobile will be at Riverview each Friday during the month of July between the hours of 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m.

Space still available in Summer Instrumental Music Festival
Students interested in registering for the Summer Instrumental Music Festival are encouraged to do so now. The 22nd annual Summer Music Festival will be held at New Town High School, 4931 New Town Boulevard in Owings Mills, from Tuesday, June 24, through Wednesday, July 2. The Summer Music Festival is a day camp for Baltimore County Public Schools instrumental music students currently in grades 6 through 12 who are enrolled in their school music programs. No audition is required. The fee for this musical experience is $200, and transportation is available at no additional charge. During the festival, students will play in a band or orchestra at the appropriate grade level. In addition to large group rehearsals, students will participate in enrichment classes and will receive instruction to enhance instrumental performance skills. All of the musical organizations will perform in a free public concert to be held at New Town High School at 7:00 p.m. on July 2. Space still available in Summer Art Enrichment Program
Elementary and high school students interested in registering for the Baltimore County Summer Art Enrichment Program are encouraged to do so now. Spaces for middle school students have all been filled. The program provides a wonderful opportunity for students in grades 3 through 12 to build their personal art skills and add to their portfolios. A variety of courses are offered to meet the varied needs and interests of students. The program runs each day from July 7-18 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and all courses will be held at Deer Park Elementary School, 9809 Lyons Mill Road in Owings Mills. Courses include Exploration of Artists and their Materials for students entering grades 3 through 5, Exploration of New Art Forms & Materials for students entering grades 6 through 8, Portfolio Development for students entering grades 9 through 12, and Color and Light for students entering grades 10 through 12. An open house and reception will be held on Thursday, July 17, to give students, parents, and teachers an opportunity to share in the Summer Enrichment Program experience and see the artworks created over the two-week program.
