Space still available in Summer Instrumental Music Camp

Students interested in registering for the Summer Instrumental Music Camp are encouraged to do so now. The 24th annual Summer Music Festival will be held at Cockeysville Middle School, 10401 Greenside Drive in Cockeysville, from Tuesday, June 23, through Wednesday, July 1. The Summer Music Festival is a day camp for Baltimore County Public Schools instrumental music students currently in grades 6 through 12 who are enrolled in their school music programs. No audition is required. The fee for this musical experience is $200, and transportation is available at no additional charge from designated sites around the county. During the festival, students will play in a band or orchestra at the appropriate grade level. In addition to large group rehearsal, students will participate in enrichment classes and will receive small group instruction to enhance instrumental performance skills. All of the musical organizations will perform in a free public concert to be held at Oregon Ridge Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1. Space still available in Summer Art Enrichment Program
Elementary, middle, and high school students interested in registering for the Baltimore County Summer Art Enrichment Program are encouraged to do so now. The program provides a wonderful opportunity for students in grades 3 through 12 to build their personal art skills and add to their portfolios. A variety of courses are offered to meet the varied needs and interests of students. The program runs each day from Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and all courses will be held at Cockeysville Middle School, 10401 Greenside Drive. Courses include Exploration of Artists and their Materials for students entering grades 3 through 5, Exploration of New Art Forms & Materials for students entering grades 6 through 8, Portfolio Development for students entering grades 9 through 12, and Color and Light (painting) for students entering grades 10 through 12. An open house and reception will be held on Thursday, July 16, to give students, parents, and teachers an opportunity to share in the Summer Enrichment Program experience and see the artworks created over the two-week program. Late registration for summer high school to be held on Wednesday, June 24

Late registration for summer school will be held on Wednesday, June 24. High school students only can participate in late registration for summer school. The registration will take place at the five summer high school sites: Dulaney High School at 255 Padonia Road in Timonium; Parkville High School at 2600 Putty Hill Avenue in Parkville; Owings Mills High School at 124 Tollgate Road in Owings Mills; Dundalk High School at 1901 Delvale Avenue in Dundalk; and Western Technical High School at 100 Kenwood Avenue in Catonsville. High school students already enrolled in Baltimore County Public Schools can register from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Students not enrolled in the school system can register from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. only, for any remaining spaces. Most Baltimore County Public Schools summer schools -- for all grade levels - will begin on Tuesday, July 7, and end on Friday, August 7.
