Background:
The annual Teacher of the Year ceremony is a prelude to the state Teacher of the Year competition. Baltimore County's winner will move on to state competition, beginning with recognition from the State Board of Education on May 29 and culminating with the announcement of Maryland's Teacher of the Year in October. For the Baltimore County winner, the county's business community has joined with BCPS as partners for the event, including the Baltimore Area Toyota Dealers, who each year present the BCPS Teacher of the Year with the use of a new Toyota for one year.
