Educational Advisory Councils schedule four meetings to solicit input on fiscal 2010 BCPS capital budget

What: Four of Baltimore County's five Area Educational Advisory Councils have scheduled public hearings to solicit opinions, ideas, and concerns regarding building-related items included in the school system's capital budget for fiscal year 2010. Views or concerns shared with advisory council members will later be shared with the Board of Education of Baltimore County as it begins deliberating its annual capital budget. Items for consideration should relate to the school system's capital needs rather than those items included in the system's annual operating budget.

When & Where:
All meetings will be held at 7:00 p.m.

• Central Area - Thursday, March 13, at Dumbarton Middle School, 300 Dumbarton Road, Towson.
  
• Northeast Area - Wednesday, March 19, at Pine Grove Middle School, 9200 Old Harford Road, Parkville.
  
• Northwest Area - Tuesday April 15, at Woodholme Elementary School, 300 Mount Wilson Lane, Owings Mills.
  
• Southeast Area - Monday, May 12, at Norwood Elementary School, 1700 Delvale Avenue, Dundalk.

Background: Each year at the start of the budget season, the Baltimore County Board of Education's Area Advisory Councils schedule pre-budget hearings to solicit input about items of interest or concern relating to the capital budget. Public comments about the capital needs of the school system are forwarded to the Board of Education of Baltimore County to consider when constructing the capital budget.
