60 Towson High students to advocate for arts education at Maryland Arts Day

What: Sixty students from Towson High School – including students taking law, public policy, and art courses – will participate in this year’s Maryland Arts Day. The statewide arts advocacy event, organized by Maryland Citizens for the Arts, connects artists, educators, administrators, volunteers, and trustees with lawmakers from every legislative district in Maryland. The group from Towson High may be the largest student representation from one district to attend and advocate for arts education. The students will be accompanied by Rachel Valsing, Towson High’s visual arts chair (who organized the trip), and Ryan Twentey, visual arts supervisor for Baltimore County Public Schools.

When: Thursday, Feb. 13, from 8:15 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Where: St. John’s College
60 College Ave., Annapolis, 21401
