Randallstown High School PTSA Holiday Bazaar
What: The annual Randallstown High School Holiday Bazaar, sponsored by the school’s PTSA, will feature more than 45 local arts and craft vendors, unique handmade jewelry, holiday décor, books, home accessories, beauty/skincare products, baked goods, and more. The event is free and open to the public. From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., children will be able to make free crafts and meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. (There will be a small fee to take photos with Santa.)

Monday, Dec. 10
Office of Special Education hosts Navigating Possibilitopia
What: The Office of Special Education presents
Navigating Possibilitopia, an opportunity for parents to learn from other parents about supporting young adults receiving a certificate of attendance at age 21. The event will feature a panel discussion and work sessions.

Pot Spring Elementary hosts its Winter Concert
What: The Pot Spring Elementary Winter Concert will feature the school’s 5th Grade orchestra and band, 4th Grade chorus, and Blue Diamonds chorus. (The Blue Diamonds chorus is an afterschool club with 22 members in Grades 3, 4, and 5.The group is directed my vocal music teacher Tammie Bortner.)

The Arc Baltimore to present at Edmondson Heights Elementary
What: Edmondson Heights Elementary is extending its Inclusive Schools Week (Dec. 3 – 7) activities with two presentations by representatives of The ARC Baltimore. The presentations will educate students about how children with and without disabilities and from diverse backgrounds can participate and learn together in the same classes – celebrating the principles of unity, diversity, and inclusion. Students will learn about disabilities and how they can play a part in awareness activities, learn to break down stereotypes, and overcome preconceptions regarding disabilities. The presentation will include the experience of a person with disabilities (what their challenges and successes are) as well as tips for how students can include others with disabilities in and out of school. Dedicated to providing advocacy and high quality, life-changing supports since 1949 in Baltimore City and Baltimore County, The Arc Baltimore supports more than 6,000 adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Seussical the Musical JR at Ridge Ruxton School
What: Students at Ridge Ruxton School will perform in Seussical the Musical JR. The performance will feature some students from the school’s Signing Chorus, as well as student dancers from other classes. Following Seussical, the student rock band from West Towson Elementary will also perform.

Leadership Summit for Young Men in High School
What: More than 150 young men from high schools across Baltimore County will join together for a leadership summit. The agenda will include greetings from Kathy Doherty (associate provost/executive director, Goucher’s Welch Center for Graduate and Professional Studies), BCPS Interim Superintendent Verletta White, and a keynote address on “Leading from Within” from Sean McComb (2014 BCPS, Maryland, and National Teacher of the Year and a BCPS assistant principal). Breakout sessions will address racism, preparing for college and work, finding and using your voice, time management, student leadership, and manhood in the 21st century.

Student Council members to gather to explore advocacy
What: The Baltimore County Student Councils General Assembly meeting will bring together 278 students from 19 middle schools and 18 high schools to explore the topic of advocacy. Special speakers at the gathering will include County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr. and former County Council member Vicki Almond.
When: Monday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Southwest Area Advisory group to discuss ESOL
What: The Southwest Area Education Advisory Council will discuss ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) at its December meeting. The meeting is open to the public and registration is not required.
