Students in BCPS 2018 Honor Band, Chorus, Orchestra to perform free concert at Morgan State on Nov. 19

TOWSON, MD — More than 270 of Baltimore County’s finest student musicians, representing 13 high schools, will perform at the annual Baltimore County Public Schools High School All Honors Concert.

The performance will take place on Monday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the James H. And Louise Hayley Gilliam Concert Hall at the Carl Murphy Fine Arts Center at Morgan State University. The concert is free; however, tickets, which can be requested online, are required due to limited seating. The deadline for requesting tickets is Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Conductors for the concert include Kelvin Washington, assistant director of bands, Howard University, directing the Honor Band; Dr. Ryan Kelly, associate professor of music, West Chester University, leading the Honor Chorus; and Dr. Anna Binneweg, of Anne Arundel Community College and Londontowne Symphony Orchestra, steering the Honor Orchestra. Mark Malinowski of WBJC will serve as master of ceremonies.

A combined finale will feature the Band, Chorus, and Orchestra students, as well as the Owings Mills High School Dance Ensemble, and will be conducted by Derrick Jackson, vocal music teacher at Towson High School.
