The online survey will begin Monday, October 29, and end at midnight on Monday, November 12.

When: Public information session:
Monday, Oct. 29, from 7 – 8 p.m.

Upcoming committee meetings:
Monday, Nov. 19, from 6 – 8 p.m. (snow date: Wednesday, Nov. 28)

Where: Mays Chapel Elementary School
12250 Roundwood Rd., 21093

Background: In 2017, the former Chestnut Ridge Golf Course was approved to become a residential development, known as Castanea Estates. This development is split across two, elementary, two middle, and two high school attendance areas. The boundary committee will consider options to address the alignment of the attendance areas for the Castanea Estates development.

Schools affected by the boundary change are Fort Garrison and Mays Chapel elementary schools, Pikesville and Ridgely middle schools, and Dulaney and Pikesville high schools.

The public is invited to participate by watching committee meetings (online or in person); e-mailing comments and suggestions to the boundary study committee; participating in an online survey (from Oct. 29 – Nov. 12); and participating in a public information session. Please note, however, that the public is welcome to attend – but not participate in – regular boundary committee meetings. In addition, all boundary study committee materials and videos will be posted to the Castanea Estates Boundary Study website after the meeting.

Email comments to the boundary study group may be submitted via the website or to boundarystudy@bcps.org. All email comments received are public record and are logged and posted to the website. Please avoid posting personal information.
