Visit the Parentmobile at MedStar Franklin Square Community Fair

What: Visitors board the Parentmobile to learn about BCPS' curriculum, at-home learning resources, the BCPS website, community resources, and resources to support families of students with special needs or limited English proficiency. Parents and guardians are invited to visit. No registration is required.
When: Friday, Sept. 14, from 11a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

County Health Department Back-to-School Immunizations

What: The Baltimore County Health Department is accepting walk-ins for school immunizations at all seven of its health centers. If children are not properly immunized by Monday, Sept. 24, they will be excluded from school. For more information, call 410.887.2705.

Be part of Baltimore County high school study

What: Baltimore County Public Schools encourages the public to be part of itsHigh School Capacity Study. The purpose is to study all BCPS high schools and identify potential options and strategies for providing enough seats for growing enrollment. This is the second round of public feedback. Public information sessions will feature new options based on prior feedback, and facility conditions will be considered. There will be a brief presentation, and the community will be able to view and discuss options and strategies with staff, and complete a survey. The survey will also be available online and will be translated into six languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese. A completetimelinefor the study is posted online. Study results will be presented to the Board of Education of Baltimore County. Email comments may be submitted tohighschoolstudy@bcps.org. All email comments received are public record, and will be logged and posted to theHigh School Capacity Study webpage including names but not email addresses. Personal information should be avoided (e.g., phone numbers, student names).

Baltimore County Student Councils Fall Leadership Camp to be held

What: The annual Fall Leadership Camp for Baltimore County Student Councils brings together student leaders from middle and high schools across the county for leadership development training, brainstorming, team building, planning, and more.
When: Wednesday, Sept. 26, through Friday, Sept. 28
Where: River Valley Ranch, Manchester, MD

Can’t miss event: The BCPS Magnet Expo!

What: If you have never been to a BCPS Magnet Expo, you should mark the date on your calendar now! The Expo provides a unique opportunity to explore the possibilities of more than 100 BCPS Magnet and Career and Technology Education programs. Talk to teachers and students. See performances and demonstrations. Learn more about all of the certifications, special skills, college credits, and unique experiences – “gifts with purchase” – students can graduate with. Parents and students are encouraged to attend. Registration is not required, and the event is free!
When: Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
