Patapsco High part of Movember campaign to support men’s health

Movember is back at Patapsco!

Each year a number of staff at Patapsco High School & Center for the Arts participate in the charity event called Movember. During the month of November, men are encouraged to grow mustaches to support men’s health awareness and initiatives. Mo’ Sistas also are encouraged to join the team, help spread the health messages, and participate in initiatives.

Over the last five years, Patapsco has raised $15,000 due to a tremendous buy-in from faculty and students.

The Movember Foundation supports prostate cancer and testicular cancer research, but recently has made large investments of time and resources to mental and physical health. Last year, their major initiative was the Movement campaign which encouraged people to be physically active every day, for 30 days. The Movember Foundation began with just 30 participants in 2003 and now involves more than 5 million people globally.
