It’s National School Social Work Week!

Spotlight

National School Social Work Week is celebrated the first full week of March. School Social Workers play a fundamental role in creating a positive school climate and in forging partnerships between the home, school, and community to ensure academic success. School Social Workers assist children and families by examining factors in the home, school, and/or community that are impacting a student’s educational success, and then assisting in reducing those barriers. These barriers may include but are not limited to behavioral difficulties, social competencies, mental health concerns, special education needs, homelessness, basic family needs, and economic factors. The celebration of School Social Work Week highlights the vital role school social workers play in the lives of our students and their families.
