Westchester Elementary visits ships on Baltimore's Inner Harbor

On Monday, September 15th, more than 320 students, teachers, and chaperones from Westchester Elementary traveled to Baltimore's Inner Harbor to visit the naval ships. Students were given the rare opportunity not only to see but tour vessels from all over the world. They explored the history of life at sea and learned about sailing practices from both the past and present day. Grade 5 students also had the chance to go aboard NOAA ships and learn about ocean exploration. As students ventured from ship to ship, they collected stamps from the vessels they visited in their War of 1812 Bicentennial Passport. Students enjoyed this once in a lifetime opportunity, and it won't soon be forgotten!
