NY Times Bestselling Author visits Sudbrook

Sudbrook Magnet hosted Chris Grabenstein, a New York Times Bestselling Author, who entertained students with his wit and wisdom during grade level assemblies. He shared his "Rules Of The Writing Game," demonstrated how to use the techniques of improvisation to beat writer's block, explained the importance of rewriting, and talked about the power of verbs.

“My goal is to reinforce your classroom work in a fun, funny, and interactive way that leaves kids eager to do more writing on their own” Grabenstein said.

Grabenstein is the co-author with James Patterson of the #1 New York Times Bestselling I FUNNY series. He is also an award-winning author of books for children and adults, a playwright, screenwriter, and former advertising executive as well as an improvisational comedian. Winner of two Anthony and three Agatha Awards, Chris also wrote for Jim Henson's Muppets.

“The students and teachers absolutely loved the presentation,” said Ali Schilpp, the library media specialist at Sudbrook. “He is so hilarious and his experience as an improvisational comedian makes him the most entertaining author visit ever.”
