For the week leading up to Superbowl Sunday, students at Kingsville Elementary School showed their community spirit by participating in the school's first SOUP-er Bowl.  Students were encouraged to bring in cans of soup to "vote" for the team that they hoped would win the Superbowl.

Each grade in the school was in competition with the rest to bring in the most soup donations for the winning team. Tables in the school's lobby were piled high with soup cans, which will be donated to the local Helping Hands Food Pantry in Kingsville.  Although the table for the Denver Broncos was piled high with cans, the Seattle Seahawks table held a respectable amount of cans as well.  The winning grade level, based on Sunday's final score was third grade. Each member of that grade level will be awarded a SOUP-er Bowl Championship Ring Pop! However, the real winners in this food drive will be the patrons of the food pantry.
