Pine Grove Middle School Art Teacher Named Service Learning Fellow

Vernon Fains, visual arts teacher at Pine Grove Middle School and Maryland Middle School Art Teacher of the Year, was recently selected as one of Maryland’s 2014 Service Learning Fellows.

This prestigious recognition is given by the Maryland State Department of Education to individuals who engage younger generations in meaningful and substantive community service. Fains was one of only six individuals in the entire state who were identified as Service-Learning Fellows, and is the only one from Baltimore County. Over the past 20 years, MSDE has chosen only 230 other individuals to receive this elite title.

Pine Grove Middle School is proud to have Mr. Fains as an esteemed member of its school community. PGMS staff and students commend him for his unending commitment to inspire and motivate all students to both contribute and learn from their community.
