Summer Instrumental Music Camp prepares for grand finale concerts

Even when the classes end for summer, Baltimore County Public Schools doesn't stop being one of the nation's "Best Communities for Music Education"!

A total of 350 BCPS students enrolled in Grades 5-12 have been hard at work since Wednesday, June 19, practicing for two evening public concerts, the culminating performances of the school system's Summer Instrumental Music Camp. Forming five different ensembles – two orchestras and three bands – the students have participated in music enrichment classes and rehearsed in groups led by BCPS music teachers and college music students serving as teacher-interns in preparation for the performance.

The grand finale concerts are set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, at Cockeysville Middle School. Admission to the concert is free, and all are welcomed to attend. Come cheer on the largest Summer Instrumental Music Camp in more than a decade!
