Students at Western Tech receive National Health Science certification

Western School of Technology and Environmental Science is helping its students get a head start on their careers in the health industry!

There, all juniors enrolled in the Health Science magnet program passed the National Health Science Assessment. Composed of 100 questions and based upon the National Healthcare Foundation Standards and Accountability Criteria, the exam tests students’ knowledge in 11 key areas – academics, communications, healthcare systems, employability skills, legal responsibilities, ethics, safety practices, teamwork, health maintenance practices, technical skills and information technology applications – and mastery of healthcare skills.

This achievement has allowed each student to receive his or her National Health Science Assessment certification from the National Consortium for Health Science Education (NCHSE) before senior year!

Way to go Western Health Science juniors!
