Hereford Middle students host day of fun learning with Pleasant Plains Elementary students

Members of the Hereford Middle School Student Council and National Junior Honor Society sponsored a day of learning and fun with students from Pleasant Plains Elementary on Thursday, May 16, 2013.

Activities included arts and crafts, dancing, a concert by the Hereford Middle School Steel Band, and talks from teachers and administrators. Hereford Middle students provided lunch for the Pleasant Plains students and sent them home with gift bags.

The goal of the day was to provide both groups of students with exposure to those with different backgrounds and experiences and to instill in them a greater appreciation of how differences make our society richer and stronger. The participating HMS students also had the opportunity to practice their leadership skills and their skills as caring citizens.
