Hereford High School Mock Trial team competes in Circuit Finals

Of the 27 Harford and Baltimore County public and private schools that compete in the Mock Trial Competition, Hereford High School and The Park School of Baltimore were the last teams standing as they went head-to-head in the Third Judicial Circuit Finals Thursday, March 21 at the Historic Courthouse in Towson.

Student attorneys and jurors from both sides acted out a trial focused on animal cruelty in front of Circuit Court Judge Justin King, who presided over the hearing. The Honorable Judith Ensor and attorney Brian Cathell scored the competition.

It was a close match but The Park School came out on top, marking the third consecutive year that the school has won the circuit finals. Park will now advance to the state competition, going up against DeMatha Catholic High School Wednesday, April 10.

Baltimore County Public Schools coordinates the Mock Trial program for the Third Judicial Circuit in collaboration with the Circuit and the Baltimore County Bar Association. The Circuit is comprised of Baltimore and Harford counties.
