Board and Superintendent honor successful students, educators, and community members

Board of Education of Baltimore County President Lawrence Schmidt was joined by four board members – Rodger Janssen, Olivia Adams, George Moniodis, and Michael Bowler – and BCPS Superintendent Dallas Dance in honoring approximately 200 stellar students, educators, and community members.

The winter Board of Education Recognition ceremony was held on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Perry Hall High School. The event is the second of three such events that will be held this school year.

During the ceremony, the board recognized students, educators, and community members who have achieved success and contributed to the goals and mission of BCPS. Honorees included those who have won local, state, or national awards and others who have significantly benefited their schools and the school system. Honorees were recognized for achievements in a vast array of areas including teaching, music, art, overall academic achievement, dance, Braille, writing/journalism, and positive behavior programs.

Highlights of the evening included performances by Perry Hall High's student Jean-Luc  St. Pierre, steel band, and string quartet.
