On Monday, November 12, 2012, White Oak School had record-breaking attendance for their highly anticipated N.F.L. – Night of Family Learning – which incorporated football, mathematics, and movement.
Students and families participated in engaging football-themed mathematics and movement activities. Graphing football throws, computing sums to score field goals, creating number sense football helmets, and running a training-camp-style obstacle course were just a few ways that families proved math is fun for people of all ages.
The White Oak Wildcat mascot entertained the crowd, and the BCPS Parentmobile was on-site to provide a wealth of information.

At the conclusion of the evening, students were seen leaving with large smiles and bags full of make-and-take activities. Some of the favorite "souvenirs" from the event included a mathematics-themed children's literature book for each child and the Math on Call resource book for each family.
