Perry Hall Middle School 7/8 Honor Band Delivers a SUPERIOR Performance!


The fifty member Perry Hall Middle School 7/8 Honor Band traveled to New York City on April 13th -14th for a festival performance and some sightseeing. On April 13th, the band performed three songs at Felician College for an esteemed panel of judges. At the conclusion of the performance, Dr. Otis French, retired director of the United States Army Field Band, worked with the band members on musicality and praised them extensively on their outstanding, warm tone quality. Dr. French, as well as the two other judges, recognized Chloe Wynn for her impressive trumpet solo. The band was awarded the Superior trophy and medal as a symbol of their great performance.

After their performance, the band members and chaperones did some sightseeing in New York City and visited the world-renowned Metropolitan Museum of Art, attended the Broadway show Sister Act starring Raven-Symone, toured St. Paul’s Cathedral and the area surrounding the 9/11 site, as well as Grand Central Station, Central Park, and Times Square.

Their trip concluded with a meal and show at the Medieval Times Restaurant. A great time was had by all!
