The students at Southwest Academy Magnet School for Science and Engineering are Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement (MESA) Champions!

Scoring first place in the Wind Challenge and second place in the Bridge Competition resulted in the school's overall placement as the winning team. The team will represent Baltimore County Public Schools and advance to the state competition at the JHU Applied Physics Lab in Laurel, MD. The students will compete in Effective Communications (Theme STEM-1: STEM Innovators), Balsawood Bridge Design, ALICE Game Design Software and the Wind Energy Challenge (National Design Competition).
