Ten high schools from across the school district participated in the annual Baltimore County Public Schools Marching Band Showcase, held on October 17 at Towson University's Johnny Unitas® Stadium.

High schools participating included Dulaney, Kenwood, Loch Raven, Parkville, Patapsco, Perry Hall, Sparrows Point, Towson, Randallstown, and Woodlawn. The program featured both individual field shows from the schools as well as a mass band portion where the groups performed together. This year, Woodlawn High School performed a field show for the first time since the 2004 Marching Band Showcase. (They participated in the mass band portion of the show in 2008 and 2009.) Randallstown High School returned to the event and participated in the mass band portion of the show for the first time since 2005.

In addition, the event featured exhibitions were performed by The Magnificent Marching Machine of Morgan State University and The Tiger Marching Band of Towson University.

At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Roger Plunkett, assistant to the superintendent for accountability and supervision, presented certificates to the BCPS marching bands to recognize them for their participation. Dr. Plunkett was assisted by Kathleen McMahon, executive director, Department of Fine Arts, and Angela Tanner, coordinator, Office of Music.
