| Lansdowne Elementary students enjoy a visit from the Cat in the Hat. |
Lansdowne Elementary School students celebrated Dr. Seuss’ Theodor Geisel’s 100th birthday on March 1 by creating one of the largest birthday cards ever—they hope! The school anticipates that the card, signed by all 430 students with artwork as well, will make it into the Guiness Book of World Records as the new world record holder.
Its official size is 51.6 feet wide by 14.9
feet long, or 768.8 square feet. Inside it reads:
“We read your books here and there.
We read your books everywhere.
We like them, love them, yes we do.
So we made this birthday card for you.”

to read Seuss books, and to research record
breaking and computing.
