Hairston, Superintendent; Delegate Shirley Nathan-Pulliam, District 10; Delegate Stephen DeBoy, District 12-A; Mr. Dunbar Brooks, Past President, Board of Education of Baltimore County, and current member of Maryland State Board of Education; Delegate Joseph Boteler III, District 8.

Dr. Hairston presented his “Blueprint for the Future of Baltimore County Schools” to this prestigious group of metropolitan civic and business leaders. He presented not only some clear plans and programs for the future but also provided the audience with hard data that substantiate significant student performance gains achieved under the current “Blueprint for Progress.” The assembled leaders found especially useful a chart that shows the interplay of multiple influences upon the success of public education in America.

Dr. Hairston was joined by members of a recently formed Baltimore County House of Delegates Education Subcommittee. Introduced were Co-Chair Delegate Shirley Nathan-Pulliam (10th District), Delegate Susan Aumann (42nd District), Delegate Joseph Boteler III (8th District), and Delegate Stephen DeBoy (12th District). This newly formed Subcommittee is dedicated to the collaborative spirit of the County’s Delegation in Annapolis with Dr. Hairston and the Board of Education in providing the best possible resources and programs for the children of Baltimore County.

Mr. Dunbar Brooks, former member and President of the Board of Education of Baltimore County and current member of the State Board of Education, joined the leaders in welcoming Dr. Hairston’s remarks.
