Healthy Balance

"Adult oriented web sites and online gaming are too often accessible by underage youth...”

Baltimore County Public Schools has adopted the following beliefs and practices by collaborating with local, state, and federal organizations in our efforts to secure and protect the privacy of our students.

What is BCPS approach to ensuring a healthy balance for students?

This report and recommendations were created by the Baltimore County School Health Council, which is comprised of physicians, occupational and physical therapists, and psychologists. Review the 2016 Baltimore County School Health Council report and 2016 recommendations here.” The newest report, the 2018 Baltimore County Health Council report is now available.

In Baltimore County Public Schools we are committed to teaching our students to approach technology use in a balanced way. We believe in empowering and informing students to set their own limits and practice personal responsibility. A healthy media diet balances three things: what kids do, how much time they spend doing it, and whether their content choices are age-appropriate. The poster below is displayed in every teaching area in our schools and provides text and visual reminders of the need for balance in computing.
