Hello! I am so glad you decided to stop by to learn a little about me. I have been the library media specialist at Catonsville Middle School since September 1996. Prior to working in the library, I was a seventh grade language arts teacher here at CMS.

The library collection has grown quite a bit and is about three times the size it was when I started thanks to substantial collection development and grant funds from the county.

I graduated from University of Maryland with a B.A. in English and a certification in secondary education before continuing on to Western Maryland College (now called McDaniel College) where I earned my masters in education with a concentration in library media.

At home, I enjoy reading, lounging by the pool, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family. We're big Redskins fans, too! My family consists of myself, my husband and two children. We live in Frederick County and I love being home in the summer!

I love reading young adult literature and keeping up with things on the internet. I am excited to have this additional method of communicating with you. If you need to contact me, recommend a book, or ask for help, call the library at 410-887-0864 or click on the link above to send me an e-mail.

Happy Reading,
Mrs. Smith
