Meet the Nurse Mrs. Pam Frankle has been the school nurse at Pinewood Elementary School since 1994. Prior to her nursing job at Pinewood, she had worked at Sinai Hospital for 10 years on a Medical unit, Full-term Nursery, and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Mrs. Frankle has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Arizona and a Masters of Science Degree in Health Science from Towson University with her concentration in Community Health.
Health Services The primary role of the registered school nurse in Baltimore County Public Schools is to strengthen the educational process of students through improvement of their health status and through preventative programs/services.
The goal of the school health nurse is to prevent health barriers from interfering with the students' educational process. The school nurse provides first aid, health assessments, health counseling, health screening services, and health education.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Vision and Hearing Screening December 2,3,4,5 & 8th with retest on December 23rd.
Students in Grades Pre-4, 1st, 4th and any K that was not previously screened in Pre-K. Referrals from other grades with a suspected hearing +/o vision problems and students new to BCPS will be added to the screening list.
Empowering Girls Program Save the date for January 22, 2009 from 7-9pm at Ridgely Middle!Listen to speakers Ronnie Atvater, Kerri Sullivan and Lilly Richardson talk about how we can empower our girls! This event is being partially funded by our wonderful PTA HELPS Coalition Fund! THANK YOU PINEWOOD PTA!
Grade 5 parents-RESERVE THE DATE MAYDAY! Teen panel about "Transitioning your 5th grader to middle school". This program is always so informative for our 5th grade parents.
