BCPS-TV Internship Applications Now Being Accepted

APPLICATION DEADLINE: June 17, 2016
BCPS-TV is looking for High School/College Interns to work during the 2016-2017 school year. Applications for next year’s intern positions will be accepted starting April 1st.
 
*** High School applicants must plan on being enrolled in his/her school internship program or- be able to adjust his/her schedule in order to report to BCPS-TV during the school day 2-4 days a week.

*** College applicants must work through their college internship program coordinator and be able to adjust his/her schedule in order to report to BCPS-TV during the day 2-4 days a week. 

Available Positions:

Student News Reporter
The Student News intern will work closely with all BCPS-TV's staff members to help create most of our programming lineup. The focus of which will be furthering the mission of The Baltimore County Public School System.  This position is recommended for those interested in Television Journalism or those already in a communications major. Responsibilities may include writing scripts, reporting news on camera, booking and producing news and feature segments, logging video, and performing other duties -- both office- and production-related --as needed.  The intern, once accepted, will work with his/her supervisor to arrange a weekly schedule.  While interns' schedules are usually consistent from week to week, shoots cannot always be planned within their normal office hours.  Therefore, it is helpful if they can maintain a certain degree of flexibility. The intern must have his/her own transportation.

Student Sports Reporter
The Student Sports intern will work closely with all BCPS-TV's staff members to help create High School Sports Scene. This position is recommended for those interested in Sports Television Journalism. Responsibilities may include writing scripts, reporting sports on camera,  logging game footage, creating sports packages on a variety of high school sporting events, writing scripts and recording voice narration. The intern, once accepted, will work with his/her supervisor to arrange a weekly schedule.  While interns' schedules are usually consistent from week to week, shoots cannot always be planned within their normal office hours.  Therefore, it is helpful if they can maintain a certain degree of flexibility. The intern must have his/her own transportation.

Student Technical Position
The Student Technical intern will work closely with all BCPS-TV's staff members to help create most of our programming lineup. The focus of which will be furthering the mission of The Baltimore County Public School System. This position is recommended for those interested in the technical aspects of television production. Responsibilities may include, logging video, learning crew positions in the control room, editing, videography, and studio operations. The intern, once accepted, will work with his/her supervisor to arrange a weekly schedule.  While interns' schedules are usually consistent from week to week, shoots cannot always be planned within their normal office hours.  Therefore, it is helpful if they can maintain a certain degree of flexibility. The intern must have his/her own transportation.
