Submitting an Elementary School Magnet Application
- Please review the elementary school magnet program offerings at the link on the right side of this page.
- Read all instructions in the Elementary School Magnet Brochure and Application prior to submitting an application. Note that each program location identifies the incoming grades for which applications are accepted.
- Kindergarten applicants MUST meet the Maryland Age of Entry requirements (Age 5 by 9/1/2012), or MUST have applied for early admission into kindergarten testing with their zoned elementary schools. A copy of the letter requesting the early admission to kindergarten testing must be attached to the magnet application.
- Submit all required documents. Applicants are scored INCOMPLETE for any required item that is not included with the application. One phone call will be placed to number on application to request information. The application will not be processed if information is not received prior to December 31, 2011.
- Parents/Guardians should carefully review program selections prior to submitting the application. Any change in program selection(s) requires the submission of a new application, postmarked or hand-delivered on or before the application deadline.
- The Elementary School Magnet Programs Brochure is in PDF format, which requires a PDF reader to open. If you are unable to open this file, please contact your local school for an application.
NOTE: There are no admission assessments for elementary applicants. Applicants eligible to attend a BCPS elementary school are selected for magnet placement through a centralized random lottery process.
